Collector Guide

Everything you need to know about acquiring and caring for an original pastel painting.

What to Expect

Each painting is created by hand using soft pastels on archival surfaces.

Subtle variations in texture, color, and mark-making are part of the medium and give each piece its character. These qualities reflect the process and are not considered imperfections.

Choosing a Painting

When selecting a piece, consider:

  • Size and scale for your space

  • Lighting conditions in the room

  • Whether you prefer a more immediate (plein air) or refined (studio) piece

If you’re unsure, I’m happy to help you choose a painting that fits your space.

Framing

Pastel paintings require framing under glass to protect the surface.

  • Professional framing is recommended

  • A mat or spacers are used to prevent the pastel surface from touching the glass

  • Framing recommendations are available upon request

Care

With proper framing, pastel paintings are stable and long-lasting.

  • Avoid direct sunlight

  • Keep in a stable, dry environment

  • Do not touch the surface of the artwork
